That's just your opinion that was NOT our university's goal


President Torguson/Stegar and the BOV had no plans for the university to be branded with hooligans like the SEC football first university. Our goal was 1) get in the ACC and associate with our regional schools while be a broad world class university. We got that.

HOWEVER, with our 50 year goal to get with the ACC, I feel the university just coasted because we made it.... and no aspiration instead. VT realizes now, the ACC is not the end or the beginning but just a vehicle for student academic and athletic excellence. We need to fund our programs assuming that there is no money from the ACC. ACC money should be extra. That is how to get excellence.
