It is too bad JW didn't try to pursue things further with the SEC


because the conference may have still been willing to add WVU and VT. Then again, JW struck me as the type of AD that wanted VT in an athletic conference that the academic side could benefit in terms of the recruiting of regular students. Since VT gets the majority of its out-of-state students from the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions, it seems to me that JW may have had tunnel vision and only focused on conferences that were in that footprint.
