All good questions.

I'm not completely opposed to moving the HQ to DC, but I am utterly unconvinced by anything in this thread.

Moving to DC reeks of desperation to me. And desperation without an upside. I'd settle for a Hail Mary. But this is like pushing peas around on a plate. At the end of the day, they are still peas. Just colder. The problem in the long run is that the ACC simply has too many schools that are not appealing nationally in football. How to change that should be the number one focus.

The move also sounds expensive.

I get how losing Maryland was a big blow to the DC Metro area for the ACC. And adding Navy would not be a satisfactory replacement. But I'd rather we play the ACCBBT there every year than move the HQ there. And I'm still not sure that's a good move either.

The ACC needs to understand that it's in the big water now. They should be trying too get relevant in football and do it with all deliberate speed.

Think about what the other conferences are doing.

SEC: Hey. We're gonna take Texas and OU with no straphangers. Even if it pisses off A&M.
B1G: Hey. Check out our new massive TV contract coming. Massive payout per school. And we can probably cherry pick the Pac-12 any time we want.
....
ACC: We're gonna move the HQ to DC. Or add Navy. Or, how about WVU?
