As I stated in my post it is likely UVA, UNC, and GT will want to stick

with the ACC private schools for various reasons. So you can cross those off your list. Now for your Big XII schools.

Kansas - Doesn't move the needle in football. Kansas is basically the public school version of Duke in football.

Kansas St - Doesn't move the needle in football. Prior to Bill Snyder's arrival in the Little Big Apple, Kansas St was just as bad (if not worse) than Kansas in football.

Iowa St - Doesn't really move the needle in football. Also, another historically bad football program going back to the Big 8 days.

Oklahoma St - There's a reason the school is often called Okie Lite. The program has had a few successful periods at various times. It is worth noting that Barry Sanders attending Oklahoma St from 1986-1988. It is also worth noting that Thurman Thomas and Mike Gundy were also on the 1986 team.

1986: 6-5
1987: 10-2
1988: 10-2
1989: 4-7 which was somewhat typical of Oklahoma St during the Big 8 days. At least Iowa St, Kansas, Kansas St, Missouri, and Oklahoma St typically battled to see which teams would finish in the cellar of the Big 8 in a given season.

Now Oklahoma St has become a solid program under Mike Gundy. However, it still lacks the national appeal that Oklahoma has had for decades. Will Oklahoma St ever get close to being in the same ballpark? Probably not unless it starts to win a bunch of national championships in football.

Texas Tech - No national appeal or even within Texas (outside of the Lubbock area). Heck most people have no desire to visit that part of Texas as a tourist for a reason. Basically Texas Tech adds no value that will help add those extra coins to the new conference's piggy bank.

WVU - It would be a solid choice from a rivalry standpoint. Given that the state is not very populous, will WVU generate enough national appear that will translate into extra dollars for the conference?

Now for the remaining 3 choices...

Colorado St - A G5 school for a reason. Even though the school has potential, probably not a good choice for this new conference. Plus, there is a reason the Big XII opted to not add Colorado St in its latest round of expansion.

TCU - Even though it is a private school, it would be a solid choice given its location. However, TCU doesn't have a long history of success in football going back to the SWC days. If TCU happens to return to a similar form as what the program was during the 1970s, then even you may start to compare TCU to some of the private schools in the ACC.

Baylor - If you can overlook how toxic the athletic program, then you will see that the program doesn't have a rich history going back to the SWC. Yes, Morley Jennings, Grant Teaff, and Art Briles found success at Baylor. However, I'm not sure the program will ever get to a place where it can sustain success over multiple coaching eras. Once a coach finds success at Baylor, then he will likely move on to either a bigger program or the NFL and Baylor will have to start over from square one. Plus, does Baylor have a national appeal that will result in additional coins in the new conference's piggy bank?

It is possible, maybe even likely, that your proposed conference would be no better shape than what the ACC is in now. Instead of the conference having basketball-first private schools, it will have basketball-first public schools which may be worse in some perspective.
