Charlotte is 23rd to be exact. And Birmingham is 50th. So what?

If the ACC wrangles DC as it’s headquarters, the conference will still be made up of half small private schools and a few city schools that don’t move the football needle. Might was well place the ACC headquarters in Fancy Gap (the geographic center of the ACC). Moving the headquarters to DC just means the puppet masters in North Carolina will just have a slightly longer trip. No matter… the SEC and Big Ten will continue to eat our lunch and get richer.

It’s time to dissolve the ACC and look forward to a stronger pact with bigger state universities that have large living alumni numbers, larger football stadiums, the pulse of their state’s fans, etc. Think state schools from the ACC plus Big XII schools as one 16 team conference. The longer the ACC tries to sell football with Wake, Duke, BC, Pitt and Miami with their tiny fan turnouts the quicker this conference is going to die. Even if those schools produce above average football teams, nobody cares about them. I have some respect for Syracuse and no respect for Louisville, but they have fan turnout. But I’d like to say goodbye to SU and UL too and see the state schools (Tech, UVa, NCSU, UNC, Clemson, GT and FSU) all break away and add WVU to an eastern division of a 16 team conference that includes the Big XII as a western division (maybe adding Colorado State to get to 16 members).
