Long border with Missouri, so why not?


In the Nielsen Report in the thread below about concentration of college football fans, Iowa was bright red with the highest level of support for college football. There are passionate football fans there, and the profile of Iowa State is not much different than other SEC schools.

When you have a network and want penetration in other states bordering your footprint, Iowa does that for the SEC just as much as West Virginia or Kansas do. There are 3 million people in Iowa, 3 million in Kansas, and 2 million in West Virginia. I know it seems illogical because Iowa is not Southern. It's Midwestern, but networks will change the thinking.
