I would not automatically assume that JMU has put the Atlantic 10
in its rear view mirror just yet. Remember the Atlantic 10's footprint does include the 2 important regions for JMU. So if the Atlantic 10 did happen to come calling, then don't be surprised if JMU said "yes" even if it meant leaving the Sun Belt and becoming an FBS Independent. After all JMU could continue those series as a FBS Independent too.
Also, there is always the possibility that JMU could remain in the Sun Belt as a football-only member too. If JMU doesn't want to be a FBS Independent, then it is possible JMU could join C-USA or the AAC as a football-only member. Heck JMU could even decide to create a new football only conference like the Big East Football Conference or Missouri Valley Football Conference. My point is that as a full FBS member, JMU could have options for its football program that aren't currently available to them as a DI-FCS member.
