I was talking more from a perceptional standpoint. Unfortunately, for the


BEFC it was case of perception becoming reality since it was perceived to be the weakest BCS conference even when BC, Miami, and VT were members of it. Just look at the argument people made as to why an undefeated VT team didn't "deserve" to play in the BCS National Championship Game in 1999. Unfortunately, Miami was the only program in the BEFC that people (including the national media) truly respected and that was because of what it accomplished during the Independent days.
