just involve the DI schools. It involves all 3 division levels. Heck even Mark Emmert publicly admitted that this constitutional convention won't bring about radical change.

"I don't see this document in and of itself as radically transformational," Emmert said in response to Mitchell's comments. "But ... it creates the structure around which each of the three divisions can now go forth and create rules, bylaw structures, that can be based upon their unique circumstances have been as transformational as they choose to be."

Interestingly enough some believe the current proposed changes don't go far enough in achieving the original goal of this convention.

"Others, especially representatives from Division 2 and 3 schools, shared concerns that the new constitution will fall well short of creating the "transformational change" that it set out to make."

Also, it would appear that majority of the DI-FBs members don't support the Knight Commission's conclusion that DI-FBS football should be separated from the rest of the NCAA DI.

"Emmert said that while the new NCAA structure would allow Division I members the authority to separate football from its other sports, he did not believe that there was much support for that plan among the member schools."

If that statement is true, then that does suggest that even a majority of the P5s may not be in favor of the idea. It is even possible that the P5s may not have as much power within the group as some people think they do for various reasons.
