are free to go off and do their own thing if they want and the rest of the DI, DII, and DIII schools won't curl up in the fetal position and shut down their entire athletic programs just because the P5s are off doing their own thing. Likewise, you may even see schools like VT decide to not join the P5s and remain in the NCAA because of the impact that decision could have on their non-revenue sports.

The P5s can try to dictate whatever policy changes they want during the meetings. However, in order to make a change that will require majority approval. That means for some of the issues voting may occur just within DI and maybe even within 1 of the DI committees which includes representation from P5 and non-P5 schools. For the rest of the issues, all 3 division levels will be voting on the issue. The "money, money, money, money and more money" factor doesn't exist for the DIIs and DIIIs because they currently exist in a world not driven by money.
