I think.....

you have lost your mind, not to mention a grip on practicality and reality, if you think sport specific classification designations would work. I believe that would be a logistical and administrative nightmare. Yes, I also realize it is done now to a limited extent with some minor sports and schools whose conference may not offer a particular sport but, I do not believe that feasible on a much larger basis. Finally, that break off might work for the two major revs(football and men'sBB), however, that scenario presents its own unique challenges.
