then the rest of the NCAA members could decide to blackball them WRT scheduling purposes. It is why I said earlier in a post it is a numbers game and the P5s are in the minority for majority of the current sponsored sports. If you go through each sport and see how many P5 sponsor said sport, then you will see exactly what I mean because I have already taken the time to do the research. If the P5s have less than 20 (random number) of participating teams in a sport, then are they prepared to sponsor a sport with that few number of participating teams? If not, then they have 2 options:

1. Require the remaining P5 schools to sponsor the sport so they have enough participating teams; or
2. Allow now P5 schools to participate in said sport.

Option 2 is where the non-P5s have some power because they don't need to join the P5s in said sport. It may even be enough leverage to force the P5s back to the negotiation table because multiple sports would be impacted by the decision to leave the NCAA. The non-P5s may still have some leverage if the P5s opt to create a new division level within the NCAA.
