The statements themselves aren't as incriminating as much as questions they prompt. Who called Greg Sankey and when? How do you know about the call? When were TX/OU/SEC made aware of possible payouts? Who requested the info? In this framework, Finebaum is a more of a PAO than a reporter. He works for the company with a financial interest in the outcome. There are no source issues.

I don't think it's even a slight reach to say that ESPN had influence on the TX/OU move and the CFP12 proposal. And again, it isn't illegal. But it can open up daylight in a contract; something that might be important to the ACC.
