Try doing anything for a group. Now increase it 10x & tell me it's the same
The cost alone for administering a program for 300M people would be staggering and crippling. Who's going to pay for that? The government and that's where the REAL problem exists:
You're never going to get a unified healthcare system in the US because a significant portion of the country doesn't want government in their lives any more than they already are. They don't want to be told what doctors they can see, etc.
Never mind the fact that the drug companies wouldn't be able to sell directly to the public via advertising anymore because your Dr would tell you what's best for you (like they should). They'd never let that happen.
This train is too far down the tracks I'm afraid.
