Clearly, most programs are not. And Title IX will be an issue.


This new league will have to figure out how many and which sponsored sports are required. And I seriously doubt very many programs that are in the black will be cut. So Michigan Hockey should be OK, if they are indeed making money. I bet the insurance alone costs a ton though.

And with regard to title Ix, I think Congress would be hesitant to act in a way that Clemson, Ohio state, UCLA, and Texas would be harmed. I would imagine we'll end up with slightly smaller ADs at these top 65 schools, something like 7 mens and 6 womens sports would be sponsored at most, perhaps 9 and 8.
