I think it's time for a system that's both just and profitable. I don't feel it's necessary for VT football to prop up women's softball at Radford. That's what's happening right now. Let's pay the kids who are making these (B)illions of dollars something that is fair. And then the kids who are playing for nothing more than the love of the game can continue to do so as well. The Radford U softball team will be just fine playing regional exhibitions, just as Radford High School players have a good time doing so.

And as far as ECU goes, they will probably have a better time winning championships, maybe even national championships than being cellar dwellers. I realize they beat VT, but that will become even more difficult for them in the future. And oh, I know a bunch of App.St. fans down here in Charlotte who are ticked at their having moved up to FBS. It's taken all the fire out of that once dominant program. They had been playing for and winning titles regularly, but now their fans are faced with losing seasons. What fun is that?


Sorry, but there's already enough socialism in college athletics, VT is already helping to prop up Wake and BC. I hope Wake and BC decide to dip out of the new breakaway league. They might.
