I'm talking about actually moving into an economy based on renewables....


to get there, we need cheap energy (oil, gas, coal, nuclear). Because, you know, they have to be made, shipped, installed... and all THAT can't happen with renewables at the moment, and high fuel prices make those things even harder to do. Yes, there has to be incentives to move toward renewables when we are in a period of cheap fossil fuels, as you point out about commodity purchases, that is why we have to look long-term, and probably sell the US on this idea.
