Theory: The best thing for a renewable energy economy is cheap oil.

We all know renewable energy resources are expensive to build, so ever-increasing fossill fuel prices just make them that much more expensive, and more out of reach. We need a strong period of cheap oil and fossil fuels to be the catalyst for going all-in on renewables, THEN we can taper off the oil. As gas prices skyrocket, NOW isn't the time for people to be shouting about renewables....

And political tribalism is even ridiculous on THIS front. I heard some criticism of Harris for saying she loves Electric school buses. Geeze, let it go. School buses actually make the most sense to be electric. They only drive in two, small periods during the day, and their range is usually rather limited. Two things EVs love... to be plugged in and then not have to drive far.
