First of all great post, not a good post, but great post. Second,

I challenge people and traditional thinking all the time. Sounds like you have done the same and I applaud you for it. Yeah I know Chuck, he recently stalked me as an ACC homer, but Chuck was wrong. I am a Virginia Tech and to some degree a UVA homer. I want them to prosper no matter what is happening. I don't think like many Hokies in that regard. I want them both to be on top. As long as of course Virginia Tech beats them. :-)

Now back to what is happening. You have to look at what has happened in the past in college football and none of them, not one has paid the full amount. Not one. If an ACC school pulls out they are very very unlikely to pay the full amount. One because that is what has happened in the past in these situations. Two because the GOR is way above the punitive damages threshold. It's ridiculous to ask a school to pay all of their media rights if they leave for 15 years. There is no way a court is going to hold that up. They may settle with paying them $30,000,000 of the $60,000,000 they pay, but they are not paying all $60,000,000. Thus after realizing that the ACC has no way to get the exposure of the SEC and that Notre Dame is not going anywhere, it's time to break up the All Carolina Conference. They still run the Conference and football will always be number 2. I don't care what Mack does with his reduced stadium. That's all for show, but basketball is all they really care about. Just like the basketball schools in the Big East. So it's time for Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia to lead and not follow the Carolina schools. Virginia Tech needs to go to the SEC like Finebaum keeps heavily hiniting and the University of Virginia needs to go to the B1G. It's a new world and you have to take some risk to advance in it.

PS If Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia leave the ACC, at a minimum Clemson and FSU will go too.

PSS The Big 12 is just getting started on what Texas and Oklahoma will actually pay and when they get out. About two weeks since is happened, plenty is yet to come.
