The only reason I mentioned it is because I have seen old
pictures where the field was in the center of the Coliseum with a track running around it. In those pictures there was no end zone stands and tickets were sold for those seats. Based on the pic I found, the end zone seats may be at the limit of what is considered "acceptable" from a line of sight standpoint. It may even be similar to what people experienced at BMS when considering how far away the first row is from the back of the end zone.
The only pics I have found were with the Rams and Raiders, so I am not sure what USC did during those times. I would assume they sold tickets for those seats, but may not. Then at some point the track was removed and the field shifted down to its current location (end zone next to the opposite end of the Coliseum). At that point I think is when USC decided to place those giant jerseys and add the end zone seats. At least I have never found a pic where USC sold tickets for those seats after the field was shifted to its current location.
FWIW I just went on the LA Rams website to see if I could buy preseason tickets for those seats and they aren't available for purchase which leads me to believe they were never made available for purchase after the shift.
