Right. I suppose that Southern Cal, Miami and GaTech have all suffered greatly from being located in major markets with many pro teams too??
After all, Southern Cal has one of the top 5-10 football programs of all time and (as you like to point out) a powerhouse in the Director's Cup. How many national titles do they have? 50 or 60?
If UMD had a 90,000 seat stadium for football I would agree but they don't. Look at the ticket sales and the revenue they generate for basketball.
Louisville shares the sports radio dial with UK. That's right. Louisville-Lexington is not exactly a major media market. To the north is Cincy and Indianapolis. What's up there? The Reds, Bengals, Pacers, IU, ND, Xavier, U Cincinnati, etc etc.
