I agree on UNC. Tell me what would have A's?

Keeping mind the context in which the decisions were made, what other options that were available would've been A or A+ Options?

I. WVU and Louisville are better right now but not historically and these are 50 year decisions. WVU may still be available yet. Most importantly though is that ESPN wanted Pitt and SU! So who else would have been B, B+ or A+ caliber?

II. The Big Ten wanted multiple ACC schools in the south as you state. They got Maryland. Losing Maryland was not good but in light of the context, losing one school and rebounding to stave off further losses was not nearly as bad as it could have been. You also seem to be forgetting that Maryland was a long time partner with the ACC. You have to trust people you work with and while I don't blame Maryland I also don't blame the ACC for trusting their partners to be committed. Maryland made its decision based on what it thought was best for their university and I don't see this as a particular failure for the ACCs leadership. Maryland had run up a huge deficit in funding through some bad decisions and was in a tough spot. I don't know that there is much the ACC could have done to change this outcome.

III. What other available options would've resulted in a higher grade? Which schools would have been B or A caliber?

IV. You gave it a good grade but I think your underselling it a bit. We beat the Big 12 for this arrangement with ND. Coupling this with the addition of Louisville were two head to head wins over the Big12.

V. I certainly agree that this should've been wrapped up along time ago but it still hasn't played out fully. The Big Ten had to go back and make nice with Penn State after-the-fact because their response was way over-the-top. I'm not sure I see that is the appropriate course of action. Very different situation than what we have at Unc though. I'm also not sure about the jurisdiction so to speak between the ACC and the NCAA. Not sure what the ACC can do before the NCAA rules.
