All I can tell ya is majority of this board recognized its importance.
Most of us here identified a need for a ACCNetwork.
And that was proven to be absolutely true, as early as 2011 and 2012, as FSU and others began pitching fits over not having one. It really was quite predictable for anyone who is willing to examine it critically.
I just can't believe so many of you are buying Swofford's line when he tells you how great he and his media advisers have done. And I really can't believe you guys are buying the "I'm forward thinking" BS he was spitting out there in that video.
If they had chosen to have a network in 09, they could have easily had one up and running by now. And all indications are that the thing would all ready be in the black and spitting out tens of millions of dollars for ACC schools.
It's literally cost VT millions of dollars, perhaps as much as $10-$20 million by this thing being so late. Think about that next time you're cutting a check to the VT Athletics Department. It likely cost the ACC Maryland too.
This isn't a simple hindsight is 20/20 deal when the majority of folks who were halfway interested in such things predicted how grave an error it was. And it was also not a hindsight is 20/20 deal when only 2 or 3 years later the ACC was already VERY aware that it had made a mistake. [Post edited by chuckd4vt at 07/30/2016 8:27PM]
