So that's how you nearly end a league?
First of all, Wasserman was wrong in 09 and Swofford was wrong for listening to them. The ACC, which stretched from Boston to Miami, didn't have the demographics for a network? But the University of Texas did? And BTW, the ACC kept that group around after that? Once the Pac12's contract was announced in 10 and the LHN was announced not long after, the Wasserman Group should have been dumped. But hey, they're up the road in Good Ole Raliegh. So they MUST know what's best. And they employee a whole lot of Tarheels, so we just know they are competent.
Second, I would imagine Skipper is really happy to do business with and negotiate with ACC leadership. It's some fo the easiest negotiations of his day. ESPN has been underpaying this league for years. And it will continue to do so until at least 2019.
Third, how exactly does Pitt and Cuse beef up the football prestige of this league? Pitt's OK I guess, but their ceiling is competing for Coastal crowns. And no matter how you spin it, Maryland for Louisville was not a break even deal.
I will say that the ND deal is a good thing. But the ACC has been on their radar for decades now.
Overall, I'm not impressed. IF this thing gets us close in 19, it will have still been a decade late, which translates to tens of millions less dollars for my beloved Hokies.
