It's not a problem for fans. It's actually a benefit.


Being geographically disperse and spread all over creation looks nice when you're counting cable subscribers, but that model is in transition to viewers. In addition, regional rivals are extremely important for fans that like to travel to road games. That's why I've come full circle on the ACC inviting West Virginia or Connecticut. Another member within 150 miles of Pitt or Boston College creates more excitement for fans.

Having 4 members in North Carolina within close proximity helps ensure good turnout for ACC Championship events held in that region. We still need people to support these events in person. Having one in Orlando or Tampa that is not near any ACC school turns out poorly supported.

So it's only a problem from one perspective.
