Critical problem with ACC is concentration in NC...


Does the ACC need four schools in North Carolina? NO. Wake is superfluous, and quite frankly, our TV contract would probably be the same even if Duke and UNC were the only NC schools. NCSU has great fans and is a great road trip, but does not bring ratings or TV revenue.

Add to that glut of NC schools BC, and we've got three schools we do not need.

Take away BC and Wake, who have managed to suck now in both football and basketball, and our conference distribution increases by 15%. We also dump boring games from our schedule.

You can call Indiana University a deadbeat, but in the end they at least have hoops and their athletic budget would put them in the top 5 of the ACC's money schools. Give me deadbeats like Illinois and NW so long as they sit in one of the US's largest states.
