Could that be the ACC's M.O.?

There may be enough people, who have power and/or influence, within the conference that believe the ACC needs a certain number of private schools as members to bring balance to the conference. It may not be a fix number or percentage. It may not even be as bad as the Big East desire to keep the basketball group and football group on equal footing with each other. However, it appears the ACC is the only power conference interested in adding private schools to its conference. Whether the ACC is actively doing it or just mere coincidence may be up for debate.
