Still quite doggish on the ACC, especially until new leadership arrives.


And I'm just not so sure an addition of Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor and Tulane/Rice/SMU would do much to help the ACC's money problems. I've said from the beginning, Texas isn't coming alone. And if one of their tagalongs isn't Oklahoma, it will not be a great deal for the ACC. You're increasing the size of the league by 25%-30% with such a move and I'm just not sure the money will increase THAT much without Oklahoma coming too. Furthermore, Texas is getting their $15 million dollar share of any network pie each year no matter what.

Again, I don't think the move of 4 or 5 Texas schools to the ACC gets them competitive with the SEC or B1G.

And BTW, I think one thing everyone is waiting on is to see what this ACC Network looks like. I believe it will happen, but the early reports suggest it won't be a true network at all. We shall see. It will also be interesting to see how much money ESPN is gonna fork out from it.



Right now, the Big12 seems to be paying out substantially more money to its schools than the ACC, especially considering their keeping tier 3 rights. The WVU poster on this board mentioned WVU's deal. The LHN isn't the only tier 3 Big12 entity. OUTV payout some big money too. Remember, they have a massive payout from a Champions Bowl and it is only being split 10 ways. They also only split their Playoff money 10 ways too. The ACC's splitting theirs 15 and 14 ways.

Let's just see what this ACCNetwork is all about. I fully expect the B1G to make a bid for GT if it is not getting them anywhere near the neighborhood of B1G money.
