creates fear, and misunderstanding. Do I think NIL will be good for some select athletes? Sure. I don't think the majority of athletes will benefit immensely from this long term. I think it will settle down some. As far as your question, I don't think it will drive a lot of dollars away, as those needs will always continue, and it won't do anyone any good, if we "rob Peter to pay Paul." Could it impact some, sure. I don't anticipate to many major gifts declining. I supposed if we ever got to the point where we had a major surplus of giving we could meet with some donors and tell them, "we don't need your money," go ahead and use it for NIL to advertise for your business......Or if our athletic endowment got to $400M plus to cover the entire scholarship bill, that could happen, in theory. But, I think that day is a long, long way away before that would happen.....And, many donors don't want to watch their good seats move further and further away from midfield or mid court, if their donor dollars are not keeping up with other donors (meaning not giving to the school, while others are).....but a good question.
