Yes, I agree that NATO can stand up to Russia regardless of how many
make the commitment to defend the Baltic States. Even if some members make a direct commitment and the rest make an indirect commitment (i.e. provide supplies and money) that may still be enough for NATO to win the PR battle. Given that the US is the only NATO member to go toe-to-toe with Russia, it will still be interesting to see how Americans feel about us sending trooper to help defend the Baltic States even if all the other members agree to provide direct support.
Honestly, I could see a decent percentage of the population object to the idea because they see the Baltic States having as much strategic importance to the US as Afghanistan or even Vietnam did when the US decided to get involved in those respective wars. Maybe even a civil war in the case of Vietnam. Now it is possible the people, who do object, are doing it because they aren't sure if the Baltic States are worth the US potentially finding itself in a middle of a nuclear war. Definitely interesting times to say the least.
