I still think the brand value and history of the ACC will save it

I suspect the move is to a P4 (reality is it exists with OU/TX leaving the Big12, bringing in the current flavors of the month doesn't save it, it makes it the Big East between 2004 and the AAC).

The 4 remaining have history and fan bases that have known them for most if not all of their lives. That's one of the Big12's problems, it was created and recreated and now being recreated again from the leftovers of others. It is a slightly more powerful version of CUSA. I don't think a P2 works so I think the P4 is the future.

Now, I also believe that FB is going to end up doing it's own thing. I do believe that FB is going to split 1A into 2 groups that are kinda built around the conferences (like the BEFC) but the rest of the conferences will remain for all other sports. Without FB as the driver, they might actually shrink to better support travel and such for non-revenue sports.
