Commonwealth. That nominal amount stays with the mechanic to cover their costs.
Because it is so low, that is really the issue that rubs me the wrong way, because mechanics that do inspections, because they aren't getting paid a whole lot, naturally want to use it as 'filler' work on their schedules, and as such, want you to leave it at their place all day, until a hole opens in the schedule, for something that simply doesn't call for a need to get a ride from their place to work, and back.
It is the inconvenience of it, more than anything, that I don't like.
