That makes complete sense.

They're obviously close (I'm fully aware of the history behind the series), but the fact that Navy has been an auto victory for ND for most of the last 50 years has made it easier for ND to have the warm and fuzzies for Navy.

My point remains...ND is not tied to the hip with Navy and will ultimately do what's best for ND - even if that means moving away from their annual pillow fight...er, showing their gratitude to the Navy...er, the US taxpayers.
