The PAC could go to 14, but it's a long shot. The networks want new

subscriptions, with total audience starting to factor in again. The Presidents who vote new schools in want strong academics, cultural fit, geographical reach for out of state students that can afford to pay the out of state tuition and teams that have made bowl games. Who does the PAC go get, who fits that?

One side note: I was told in 2003 that "if" the service academies want in, they will get in because the DOD wants them in the spot light to recruit cadets, midshipmen and airmen. Just like the Presidents know getting TV coverage in out of state markets that can afford to pay out of state tuition, the academies know that for instance Navy beating Notre Dame yesterday gets kids to go to Navy instead some of the higher level academic schools that apply to that don't have upper tier football. I was told by someone very high up at Navy that we have lost kids to Stanford lately because of Stanford's football success. In other words the service academies are one of the only wild cards out there that could happen before the Big 12 GOR expires.
