And although there are a few that apply to USNA, USMA & AFA.

That want to go to school to play D-1 football, the majority go to those academies because they want to serve our Nation knowing what lies ahead after graduation. They also want to attend these academies because of the excellence associated with each one of them. The majority that play/played football for the academies are smart, tough, athletic and often undersized young men who would probably be overlooked by the majority of FBS schools anyway.

Now looking at USNA's rival, one of the last things on the USMA's mind is P5 membership. But if the DoD pushes them to do so, like Stech suggests they'll be good soldiers and follow orders.

And lastly, if the DoD pushes that issue for the academies, look for the P4/5 to grow from 65 schools to roughly 80. If the DoD is behind some P5 moves, you know State governments are going push for other schools like UConn, SDSU, BSU, Cincy, etc. So the P5 could become the P4 if the Big XII dissolves, but it will probably grow back to P5 again with a National conference, likely merging some of the AAC and MWC schools.
