How exactly does a school's academic profile help other league schools?

And since the ACC was forced off of it's high horse to add Louisville, I feel it's even less relevant to consider a school's academic prestige. WVU is what it is.

But they would indeed help the ACC's bottom line a ton and that's about all that matters considering this is an "athletics conference." The Ivies kinda do their own thing and then I do feel the B1G's CIC thing is worthwhile, but other than in those two instances, I find little reason academics should even be a concern.

Maryland just okeedoked the ACC and it effected their relationship with VT nada. VT and Wake had a relationship together prior to their joining in the ACC. VT and UVA obviously worked together.

I looked it up one time, and it has likely changed SOME since then, but a few years ago the only thing I could find as any sort of collaboration was an ACC study abroad exchange. So VT students could study abroad through Duke or Clemson courses. However, that's truly no big deal. Almost anyone can study abroad through almost any school. I knew a guy while at VT who studied in China through a course run by Stanford. I remember seeing fliers hanging around VT to study abroad through Harvard and the likes.

Anyhow, academic reps mean little and that is especially true since the ACC added UofL.
