I agree. The Networks, especially ESPN may have a design for their ideal college football architecture. But the conferences don't have to cooperate with them. ESPN put handcuffs on the ACC and the Big 12 (via the LHN). The consequences of that are being seen by all. The B1G will hopefully take the upper hand from ESPN by involving other bidders in their eventual broadcast arrangements. The future of college football can, and should, remain in the hands of the universities and the conferences.
The speculation that some P5 football programs may be left out in the cold may become reality, but not simply because TV execs wish it to be so.
