Agreed a 16 team conference with 2 permanent division of 8 is a disaster


Yup that's why the WAC imploded. Forced rivalries (like the ACC now).

Ultimately, there is no sense in having 2 teams in the same conference if 2 teams play each other once every decade. Kind of feels like FSU and VT in the ACC now. It ends up with silly things like Wake and UNC scheduling an OOC game during the season. So silly.

Let's add the right teams to get to 16 or 20 teams, then create the logical mini rivals and rotate the rest. I would speculate that the ACC is in no rush to go to 16 or 20 unless they can get either Texas, Notre Dame, or to a lesser extent Oklahoma to be the catalyst.
