Does this open the door for the Big XII to do what the SWAC

currently does; have 2 divisions with 5 teams in each division? Both divisions would play a round robin schedule and either 4 or 5 cross-division games (depending on whether the conference wants to play 8 or 9 games).

In the SWAC's case, it still plays 9 conference games so it is kinda silly to have divisions. However, since the SWAC wanted to have a CCG instead of participating in the FCS Playoffs, I guess it thought dividing up the teams into 2 divisions would make it easier to sell attending the CCG to the fans. Assuming the Big XII divides up the schools among the 2 divisions, then it could look something like this:

Division A: Iowa St, Kansas St, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Baylor
Division B: WVU, Kansas, Oklahoma St, Texas, TCU
