Depending on which network wins the rights to televise the game could even determine what time slot the Big XII's CCG is televised in which may (or may not) require moving another conference's CCG to a different time slot. Since the Red River Shootout is played in October, enough games will have been played afterwards that casual viewers may not be turned off by it since a lot could have changed for both teams. Whereas Baylor and TCU typically play their game towards the end of the regular season (last two or three weeks), so casual viewers may not be as interested in seeing a rematch played so soon after the regular season game. In 2012, Stanford had to play UCLA during the final week of the regular season (won 35-17) and then play UCLA again the following week in the CCG.
