VT has had a cupcake ACC schedule so far this season

VT is 11-0 in ACC play, but their opponents thus far are now a combined 9-26 in the league. They also get a 2-7 BC team later.

Duke and VT have 5 common opponents in their 8 ACC series, including the three worst teams (BC, Pitt, Syracuse), so if we're going to say Duke has an easy schedule, VT's isn't exactly murderer's row either in the league.

That nonconference schedule was huge to build RPI. It also likely won't come down to VT or Duke in a one-on-one battle to host a regional or super regional, but there is certainly something to be said for the value of winning a regular season title.
