My FCPS high school had a "smoking court" until 1985

it was a secondary school, and I remember my older sister telling me that kids could go to this courtyard and smoke during school as long as they had a permission slip.
I was born in 1971. I don't even remember there being a minimum age for tobacco - my buddy and I used to go to 7-11 and buy dip and camel lights (Joe Camel !) in our never-ending quest for coolness in middle school. At high school football games, some adults smoked in the stands and kids smoked behind them...
