I think they want more intersectional diversity. All 3 "Alliance" conferences will likely go to 8 conference games and two OOC Alliance games. That will leave 2 flex spots on the schedule to accommodate rivalries or buying a home game.
Also won't surprise me to see a 10 "P5" game type scheduling requirement to redefine the top tier of college football and qualify for a future playoff. That will give the participating conferences much more certainty regarding their post season outlook and income.
