It will be interesting to see how many conferences do opt to go
this route. If the ACC ends up being the only power conference to go this route, then it could be interesting to see if that helps or hurt the ACC perceptually speaking.
Given that the Pac-12 has 2 protected games for the 4 CA schools so they can play each other every year, I'm not sure the Pac-12 really gains that much by scrapping the divisions because UDub, Wazzou, Oregon, and Oregon State are already playing 2 CA schools and Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Arizona State more frequently. The only thing the Pac-12 gains is playing the 2 CA in the other division more frequently which may or may not be that much of a gain to begin with.
