Coach Mike Young, would build slow and develop a senior class that every few years was very good at Wofford. These kids were not highly rated kids, they were diamonds in the rough. So every couple of years, Mike's senior laden team would play way above it's weight.

Now Mike is in the ACC. He can and does get better talent than at Wofford. Using the develop them slow especially with the transfer portal is causing problems. We have a couple of kids that transferred from last year that we need this year. If we don't watch out and play a couple more this year, we are going to be in the same position next year. In other words, if Maddox and Pedulla transfer, we are going to be in a world of hurt next year. Even Coach K stopped being a slow development coach, to getting the one and dones and playing them. Yes early in the season they are going to make mistakes, but the blue bloods know that the most talented have a much higher probability of shining in March. We all know that Mike is a great person and he has had a lot of success coaching players up, but it's really important that in today's transfer portal environment, that he does that faster and that he plays the most talented guys earlier.
