I'm saying we should cry over the 5 stars but 3 and 4 stars aint no biggie
I repasted the stuff below that explains the method I am using. After reviewing the 2012-2015 VA top 25 recruits on 247 Sports, I found that the 5 stars are legit but a lot of the 3/4 stars do not pan out.
This is my latest attempt to show that recruiting rankings are not reliable and should only be reviewed five or six years later. I reviewed the 2012 top 25 VA HS players according to 247 Sports to determine which players contributed to their teams and which players were overrated or underrated. The 2012 four star recruits contributed at a higher percentage than the three star recruits for the first time in my analysis of the VA top 25. It may not be fair or accurate to label a kid as overrated when they do not contribute on the field and my evaluations only concern their athletic abilities.
After reviewing the 2012 - 2015 VA Top 25 HS recruits on 247 Sports, I've found that 100% of the seven five star recruits contributed to their programs. Those percentages over the same time period dropped to 58% for the thirty-six four star recruits and 74% for the fifty-three three star recruits. Based on these four years, it might be more efficient to focus on the three stars in the VA top 25 who are more reliable and there is less competition for them.
