You are probably right that the national audience is suffering from


football fatigue at that point in December. I guess I saw end of the season as being the better option given that that game would be played closer to December 7th and ESPN would have an easier time associating the game with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Given that we are getting further and further away from the WWII Era, remembering Pearl Harbor may or may not be important going forward.

What made me think of the connection is that tomorrow is Veterans Day and I came to the realization that VT may be missing out on a golden marketing opportunity by its decision to play the Military Appreciation Game in September or October instead of the weekend before/after Veterans Day (assuming VT has a home game either weekend) or the closest home game to Veterans Day (if there is no home game the weekend before/after Veterans Day).
