tenacity, I just do not see it. The Thursday idea will likely not work given travel demands and practice/preparation time. Hawaii comes East mostly for paydays. Teams go west to Hawaii generally to open the season or because it works in their schedule/model. By that, I mean an FCS team looking for an FBS opponent and can afford to take the game if only expenses get covered. The key part of that last sentence is it is a schedule benefit to FCS/smaller schools, rarely, if ever, a benefit to an FBS school outside of a recruiting/booster/travel boondoggle. And it is an entirely different boondoggle taking a football traveling party than a basketball travelling party to Maui.
