Extend to run out the clock on ESPN's exclusive negotiating window and extend to give the actual conference expansion landscape time to take more shape. Create a competitive bidding situation for potentially a variety of partners and to give time to consider what rules might create the most value and access for potential playoff participants.

People that have a chance should watch the video of the joint press conference and questions. The press release gives information, however, the video/audio provides a chance to interpret the context of the written announcement. I will say that so far George Kliavkoff of the PAC 12 has been better than Larry Scott ever was on his best day(of which there were few) and both Jim Phillips and Kevin Warren were good as well, in my opinion.

Anybody seen the complete list of the 11 names that make up the AD working group? Yesterday was as expected, generally just a PR op. The meat will come from the things that happen next and the first opportunity to gauge where the winds may be blowing will, in all likelihood, be the September meeting on the CFP.
