And it's great so students don't have to remember log ins to all the online sites they have access to.
The great thing about some of the online programs that I use is that it modifies assignments based in their need and levels. And others allow me to put in the lessons I want them to focus on. When used well, these programs can be beneficial. That said, nothing takes the place of face to face learning. Even via zoom/Google Meet there are so many distractions or problems that take away from authentic learning.
I'm a teacher and my daughter is staring middle school. Straight A student all her life. She had several Bs at midterms from not turning stuff in or completing online assignments. It is very easy for students to "relax" in terms of effort with online learning. Also, my wife had been with her during some of her classes and she is not impressed with the material and the lack of learning going on.
